MKE Spring PDGA League 2024

MKE SPRING PDGA LEAGUE - MONDAYS STARTING 04/22/2024

MKE Spring PDGA Sanctioned League weekly singles. 18 Holes at Madison Park Disc Golf Course.

9 Weeks (skipping Memorial day)

04/22, 04/29, 05/06, 05/13, 05/20, 06/03, 06/10, 06/17, 06/24

Donate whatever you can, minimum $1 to play and its tax deductible (yeah!). Mondays, 5:45pm Shotgun Start.

We will be using Live Scoring on www.pdga.com/score.

MPO, MA1, MA2, MA3 will play longs

MA4, FA1, FA2, FA3, MJ18, MJ15, and MJ12 will play the short layout (holes 1, 3, 9, 12, 16, and 17 have short pads)

PDGA Sanctioned league means rated rounds and PDGA points to qualify for PDGA events (AM Worlds etc.). The PDGA minimum $1 will be charged, but we will be encouraging people to donate what they can. If that means they can only afford $1 to play in our league (the fee for the PDGA) they are welcome to do so without judgment, and hopefully they can participate in other ways (we are planning a “trash-out” event to help clean up the park and they can help set up CTPs for the rounds, etc). Everything we raise through the non-profit is for park improvements (and not maintenance, which the County will still provide) and I hope people will be able to contribute more and we will see improvements to the Course.

If you are looking for payouts by division, this is not the league for you. However, if you are looking for a fun time to focus on playing as well as you can with other people and getting some feedback in the form of a rating for your round, this IS the league for you. It will run 10 weeks (skipping Memorial Day). You do not need to be a PDGA member to play, but the PDGA will only let you see your rating if you are a member. Regardless, all players and skill levels are welcome, even juniors.

Since we are not playing for money, it is just you against the course and your prior scores with some comradery and hopefully good weather. So, regardless of skill level, come out and have some fun.

**CHECK IN:**

Where - Hole 1 Madison Park Disc Golf Course, 9800 W. Glendale Ave. Wauwatosa, WI

When: 5:00pm to 5:30pm

Card Assignment: If you have a group, as long as you check-in together I will try and put you together, otherwise I will just assign hole numbers so everyone gets to play with different people.

I will be by hole 1 checking everyone in, taking payment and assigning hole numbers until 5:30 with a shotgun start at 5:45pm. You can pay in cash or by Credit Card or Paypal either at the Course or in advance, https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=N2PAV9C23K7B4 (just let me know if you already donated).

**STARTING TIME:**

Shotgun start at 5:45pm. Please be there early to check in as I plan to start right at 5:45pm. Since we are following PDGA rules for rated rounds, we can't add people after the round starts.

**SCORING:**

We will be using PDGA Live scoring (www.pdga.com/score) and the UDisc App as a backup for scoring. The free UDisc version will work just fine. If you don't have it, you can download it here: https://udisc.com/

**DIVISIONS:**

There will be eleven divisions, Mixed Pro (MPO), Mixed Advanced (MA1), Mixed Intermediate (MA2), Mixed Recreational (MA3), Mixed Novice (MA4), Female Advanced (FA1), Female Intermediate (FA2), Female Recreational (FA3), Mixed Juniors 18 and under (MJ18), Mixed Juniors 15 and under (MJ15), Mixed Juniors 12 and under (MJ12).

I'll announce the winner each week and announce a league wide Winner based on points earned.

**PARKING:**

Park near the basketball Courts and take the path around North and East to Hole 1 (next to the brown building by the path).

**NON-LEAGUE PLAYERS:**

We do not have exclusive use of the course, so if non-league players are at the course playing a casual round, please let them play through as you can (and encourage them to join us next week, its a tax deductible donation, minimum $1).

**Daily permit or Milwaukee County park's pass is required and not covered in your entry. **

Milwaukee County passes are on the honor system, I will not be checking them, so it depends whether the County sends someone out to check passes. However, consider getting one just to support the County and the pretty great job they do in maintaining these courses and hopefully continuing to improve the courses. https://county.milwaukee.gov/EN/Parks/Experience/Sports/Disc-Golf

Finally, please keep in mind that I am not doing this for any profit and I have a day job, so please be cool and patient if you have questions or concerns. I just wanted to have a league where people could compete and get PDGA points and ratings in Milwaukee (and not have a 40 minute drive at $5 a gallon) without having to worry about a buy-in and payouts and funny money etc. and hopefully raise some money to improve the course.
